Last Two Weekend's Adventures and Shopping Raids
The past two weekends have been rather interesting. With the holidays coming up I've tried to enjoy it while I can knowing that work is about to get pretty busy probably with the kiddies being out of school and all. The stress of Christmas shopping is on my plate as well but oh well!
The other weekend ago I hit San Francisco with my photographer friend Dennis (he does all my really cool photoshoot/magazine-esque pics that you guys like so much) so he could hit Baby the Stars Shine Bright SF to big up not one-not two-not even three-but four fucking Usakumyas. He seriously has a whole family of them now. He likes collecting accessories for photoshoots and he considers BTSSB and AATP's accessories and such very interesting. Though he likes shooting gothic lolita fashion/Japanese fashion as well due to the prints and detailing.
Anyway here's a pic of one of my favorite Usakumya's he added to the family. It has such pretty blue eyes and happens to be the perfect size! I like the pochette a lot more than the backpack because they hold the same amount of space honestly. I have a bias for black too as you guys know.
We did a lot of eating in Japan Town. As the weather gets colder I start craving hot noodles. It's not nearly as fatting as okonomiyakis and such in my honest opinion and gets me a lot fuller. Instead of getting a meaty broth I get kitsune udon because the broth is pretty sweet. Takoyaki is another favorite of mine as well. It gives me the satisfaction of okonomiyaki but in a better portion at half the price!
That weekend a lot of people were heading to the DirEnGrey concert at the Regency Hall so we were also getting to meet up with a lot of lovelies who were heading to Japan Town to stay or have dinner before the show. :) While we waited Dennis and I went to Crown and Crumpet!
I'm not sure if I've ever talked about Crown and Crumpet before but I really recently have liked going there. TanTan is equally as nice but if you want English style tea then Crown and Crumpet is for sure your place to go. I got really warmed up from their tea and their afternoon tea goodies were delicious. Really nice salad, macrons, and sweets at the top of the tower of plates! :)
Ying came to visit us as well! As some of you know we kind of came out as a couple recently. I have a lot of explaining to do on how it happened. We've honestly been dating since before my birthday back in September but kept it low key for a variety of reasons. Though one I can tell you lovely readers and something I highly suggest; don't out your relationship unless people ask. Don't out it until it's apparent or until you are a couple months in. That way if things don't work out you don't look silly in a fast hook up.
I can see Ying and I working for a very long time but if anything and hopefully forever. He's such a sweetie and takes very good care of me. Plus he's incredibly fashion savvy and we share a lot of the same passions for J-Fashion and such. We're opposites and the same in many ways. <3
Here's Ying and I's PuriKura before he left for the concert! We look super pretty ne?
After everyone left for the concert Dennis and I took public transit (shocker right?! LOL) to downtown to go roam around and explore. Westfield, Sephora, and Forever 21 were the main places. I need to take Daddy Dennis to other places downtown one day. Like Little Italy for gelato >3> LOL when it's better weather maybe?
The only haul there was happened to be a very interesting winter themed Forever 21 haul. Lots of long sleeve shirts because I NEEDED them.
We ended up trolling around J-Town after waiting for the bus for literally for-fucking-ever and ended off of our night having Korean BBQ/bento at 12:00 in the morning and waiting for people to get out of the concert to say goodbye.
This weekend that just past I headed out with Ying for Black Friday shopping. I waited until the afternoon to go actually but no regrets. Trust me I got my money's worth of stuff.
We hit two malls and raided them both.
Mac was my favorite of all favorite raids. They had their holiday collection out. I ended up getting the Nocturnals Pigments in Violet and the Nocturnals Lipglass/Dazzleglass set in Pink. I know lots of girls who loved brown and nudes for
their eyes and lips but I actually love girlier colors and even then these also had darker colors in them! Blacks, deep purples, pink, and whites in the pigments. The transparent gloss, two pinks (which total set off my inner Tsubasa Masuwaka) and a deep plum glass which goes beautifully with the MAC Lipstick Cyber. <3
I ended up purchasing their 'Smokey Eye' brush set. Which I'm IN LOVE WITH -never going back to old brandless brushes again- holy crap I can really get detailed with my make-up now. I REALLY want to get the other two sets because I loved the ones I purchased so much. I want to add a couple more pigments to that collection too as well as a lipstick from the Divine Night collection! ;A; In all thought busting 124.00 on all that wasn't too bad at ALL.
Here are some really pretty swatches!
Day two of raiding was at a different mall with my baby. I love how Ying and I always try to match our outfits. I was totally blacked out with him on Saturday. I've been going through a slight punk phase recently. Especially with my current purchases. Lots of black, leather, plaid, boots, crosses, ect. I honestly blame the company I keep. Even before I met Ying I have a couple of friends who are v-kei or are retired v-kei peeps and they honestly really rocked the dark looks. With all the gyaru gals going all cutesy and clean with Liz Lisa and Forever21 stuff I've been trying to be a punk gal/rock gal on the occasion. As strange as that sounds I kind of like being cute but still having lashes for days and cute dark make-up (if that makes any sense). It doesn't mean that I don't go the cute route or even the agejyo route anymore-trust me lovelies; I do. It's just detailed LL wear is hard to come by and agejyo is a dying art. I feel like a rare species!
Speaking of gyaru style-Ying and I ended up going to H&M and Forever21
which weren't nearly as crazy as it was on Friday. Ying ended up buying more than I did. We both are starting to buy a lot of stylish casual wear for when we just are chilling with eachother in places that aren't San Francisco or events. We've been getting slightly bored of wearing brand because when we wear it at events it's no longer occasion wear and then it makes it less special. So we've been looking for casual/fast fashion alternatives.
Ying is really getting into the whole gyaru-o/host style thing. It's more of a casual thing in comparison to v-kei. Looking good and using foundation/focusing on hair is a must but it's a bit easier to be in than heavy ass make-up and tripping on the loss ass trails and chains on v-kei clothes. Plus; fucking buckles-that's all I will say. He ended up buying more than me on day two which was kind of a nice feeling for me. There's one jacket with a fur leopard print collar that I liked that he bought. <3
I ended up buying a scarf (haha we got matching scarfs. How lame and coupley are we huh?), two sets of tights because I needed them, a really cute style of a bag because it was half off, and really cute wedged ankle boots because yet again- Forever 21 had them half off.
After shopping our asses off Ying and I went for Korean BBQ and died and went to heaven. As you can see we're more of side-dish people. We eat meat but there's just something really great about Korean side dishes. I love Japchae and kimchi a lot.
End of my collective haul for both Friday and Saturday:
In all these last two weekends have been filled with tons of shopping and good times! Hopefully after work calms down a little I'll able to properly blog out a fashion article or review for you guys! I've actually bought A LOT of make-up and I kind of sort of need to review and show how I use it for all of you lovely people!
Until next time!
